The Indian Air Force (IAF) has officially released the AFCAT 2 2025 Notification for the recruitment of 284 Commissioned Officers in the Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. The online application process commenced on June 2, 2025, and will conclude on July 1, 2025.

  • Men & Women: 10% of CDSE vacancies for PC and 10% of AFCAT vacancies for SSC competition.

🎓 Eligibility Criteria :

✈️ Flying Branch

  • Age: 20 to 24 years as of July 1, 2026 (born between July 2, 2002, and July 1, 2006). Upper age limit for candidates holding a valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 years.

  • Educational Qualification: Graduation with minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. Must have passed Mathematics and Physics at 10+2 .

🛠️ Ground Duty (Technical)

  • Age: 20 to 26 years as of July 1, 2026 (born between July 2, 2000, and July 1, 2006).

  • Educational Qualification: Degree in Engineering/Technology from a recognized university/institution with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

🖥️ Ground Duty (Non-Technical)

  • Age: 20 to 26 years as of July 1, 2026 (born between July 2, 2000, and July 1, 2006).

  • Educational Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

🎖️ NCC Special Entry (Flying Branch)

  • Age: 20 to 24 years as of July 1, 2026 (born between July 2, 2002, and July 1, 2006). Upper age limit for candidates holding a valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 years.

💵 Application Fee

  • AFCAT Entry: ₹550 + GST (Non-refundable)

📝 Selection Process

  1. Written Examination: Objective-type questions covering General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning, and Military Aptitude.

  2. Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) Interview: Candidates who qualify the written exam will be called for AFSB testing, which includes Officer Intelligence Rating Test, Psychological Tests, Group Tests, and Personal Interview.

  3. Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by the AFSB will undergo a medical examination conducted by the Air Force Medical Authorities.
