The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released the Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) II 2025 Notification under Advertisement No. 11/2025.CDS-II, dated 28 May 2025. Through this national-level examination, 453 vacancies are being offered for aspirants seeking to join the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA), and Officers’ Training Academy (OTA).

This is a prestigious opportunity for unmarried graduates to begin their career in the Indian Armed Forces. The CDS 2 2025 exam is scheduled for 14th September 2025. Candidates can apply only via the UPSC Online Portal.

UPSC CDS II 2025 Important Dates

• Notification Release: 28 May 2025

• Application Deadline: 17 June 2025 (11:59 PM)

• Exam Date: 14 September 2025

• Admit Card Release: One week before exam

• Result Declaration: October 2025 (tentative)

CDS II 2025 Vacancy Details

A total of 453 vacancies are divided across the following academies:

• IMA, Dehradun: 100 Posts – Requires a graduate degree

• INA, Ezhimala: 26 Posts – Requires a degree in Engineering

• AFA, Hyderabad: 32 Posts – Requires Physics & Maths in 10+2 or a B.E. degree

• OTA (Men): 276 Posts – Graduate degree

• OTA (Women): 19 Posts – Graduate degree

All degrees must be from a recognized university/institution.

CDS 2 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limits (as on 1 July 2026):

• IMA/INA: Born between 2 July 2002 and 1 July 2007

• AFA: 20 to 24 years (Born between 2 July 2002 and 1 July 2006; CPL holders up to 26 years)

• OTA (Men/Women): Born between 2 July 2001 and 1 July 2007

Marital Status:

• Only unmarried candidates are eligible.

• OTA (Women) allows unmarried, divorcees, and widows without encumbrance.

Application Fee

• General/OBC: ₹200/-

• SC/ST/Female: No Fee
  Fee is to be paid online through UPI, net banking, or debit/credit card.

Selection Process

The recruitment process involves:

1. Written Examination

2. SSB Interview (Personality & Intelligence Test)

3. Document Verification

4. Medical Examination

CDS 2 2025 Exam Pattern

For IMA, INA, and AFA:

• English – 2 Hours – 100 Marks

• General Knowledge – 2 Hours – 100 Marks

• Elementary Mathematics – 2 Hours – 100 Marks

For OTA (Men & Women):

• English – 2 Hours – 100 Marks

• General Knowledge – 2 Hours – 100 Marks

All papers are objective-type. Negative marking of 1/3 per wrong answer applies.

2. Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) on the portal.

3. Fill in the Common Application Form (CAF) with accurate details.

4. Upload photo, signature, and ID proof (Aadhaar recommended).

6. Submit the form and download a copy for your records.
